Next week marks St. Louis Design Week, a week long series
of events designed to ‘highlight and celebrate the impact of design
in our community’ and to recognize the contributions of established
professionals in our design community. The weeks events extend
from Mon Sept 24th through Sunday Sept 30th.
STL Design Week 2012 is presented by AIGA St. Louis in partnership with these professional and nonprofit organizations: AdClub St. Louis, American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (CAM), DesignSpeak, DART St. Louis, Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), The Luminary Center for the Arts and Pecha Kucha.
I am particularly excited about Monday, Sept. 24th ArtEffect event at the Contemporary Art Museum ($5 students, $15 general admission – cash bar, food trucks on site) as well as Tuesday, Sept. 25th Dart St. Louis event at FK Photo Studio (free entry, $5 per dart throw to benefit Rebuilding Together – cash bar and food trucks on site)
Those in St. Louis should attend to support local designers, our design community and the St. Louis community at large. A number of the events benefit local non-profit organizations. STL Design Week will be excellent for admiring design work, giving back to our community and networking. So get out there and mingle!
