Our design team creates exciting user and client driven retail solutions with a balance of creativity and practical concerns. Our process begins with a needs assessment, conceptual development and moves to 3D modeling and rendering to give you a realistic look at your retail solution. The design team then works with engineering to make the vision a reality, ensuring that the integrity of the solution we have developed with you is maintained throughout the prototyping process.
Needs Assessment: The design process begins with a Needs Assessment. In this phase, we strive to clearly understand your requirements for a fixture or shop such as capacity, size, branding, and cost. These elements are the key considerations in designing a solution.
Conceptual Development: Through brand, user and state-of-the-art research, the aesthetic and material needs are further defined. Ease of use and quality of experience for the consumer is considered at this point. With project goals and parameters clearly defined, our designers can begin to create. Sketch and 3D ideation are explored to create a number of possible solutions. We will then work with you to choose which design direction is most effective.
Refinement: In this phase, the designer will devise creative solutions for adjusting the chosen direction based upon concept review with the client. Elements of the chosen design and material needs may be finessed to reflect client and user needs as well as manufacturability. At this point, as appropriate to the project and timeline, polished sketches or 3D renderings are produced to accurately reflect the look of the final product. The final designs are then approved for production.
Engineering and Estimating: Now the design team works with engineering to complete the detailing and produce the final drawings in CAD. “Smart Engineering” is used to balance structural integrity and value. The documents are then produced and utilized by the estimating department for pricing.
Prototype: Here, creativity becomes reality. Our prototype builders craft a one-off unit, accurate in all ways to the approved design. Then the prototype may be evaluated in our showroom or in the field.
